With our Newfoundland Steelhead Sea Trout, you can now fully enjoy the fresh, warm aromas of the East Coast from the comfort of your home. Its delicate taste and flaky texture make this fish an interesting and pleasant alternative to more traditional options.

This steelhead trout is responsibly fished in the freshwater rivers of Newfoundland and is the same species as the rainbow trout although it is often confused with salmon. It has a milder taste, which makes it very popular, its flakes are medium sized and it has an orange color. Steelhead trout has a high nutritional value because it is packed with essential vitamins and minerals, protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

The close resemblance of steelhead trout to rainbow trout and salmon means that it can very well be used to replace these two fish in most recipes. Its versatility also allows it to be cooked in several different ways. As our steelhead trout is offered to you filleted with its skin intact, it is ideal for pan-frying and will give you a nice crispy skin. You can also cook your fish in the oven, on the barbecue, poach it or bread it, all methods giving you absolutely delicious results.

Be sure to season your steelhead trout lightly so that its delicate flavor can really shine through. Simple ingredients like butter, lemon, garlic, dill and parsley will highlight its rather mild flavor profile in a sublime way while adding a stronger flavor to the fish where it's needed. Serve your trout with fragrant rice and crispy vegetables which will balance its soft and tender nature.

Each box contains 2.5 kg of frozen sea trout packaged in individual vacuum sealed portions giving you approximately 10 to 12 pieces per box.

Cooking mode

Thaw before cooking, either the day before in the refrigerator or in cold water for 30 to 35 minutes.

Baking: Preheat oven to 350°F. On a baking sheet, cook for 20 to 25 minutes.
